The town is Scotlands oldest baronial burgh, dating back more than a thousand years, so there's plenty of places to visit of historicals interest. You may want to visit Bruce's Well, which according to legend, King Robert The Bruce drank water from the well and was cured of leprosy. It's also thought he assisted in founding of St Ninians Chapel, which the ruins can still be seen to this day. if you're a golfer, Prestwick is the town for you, visit Prestwick Golf Club where the very first Open Championship was played in 1860, and is open to visitors all year round. There's two more courses within Prestwick, St Nicholas and St Cuthberts. So theres plenty of golfing to test the skills of visitors of all handicaps.
